a new (sort of) grant funding opportunity from Massachusetts Cultural Council for schools and organizations. (due by midnight Oct 10)
At Playful Engineers, we’re proud to have worked with many schools over the years, through the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s STARS Residency program (STARS stood for: “Students and Teachers working with Artists, Scientists, and Scholars”). Through the years, we’ve seen (and helped) the program evolve to better support schools through the ever-changing needs of their students, in an ever-changing world. And it has helped build a sturdy path for teaching artists like us to bring our best work to the students throughout Massachusetts.
This year, the grants have changed, with the STARS program now wrapped into a broader and more flexible grant program called Creative Projects for Schools. We plan to continue applying for these grants as co-applicants with our partners at schools who invite us to be co-applicants – this could be you!
We’re still offering ‘pre-packaged’ options, similar to the STARS Residencies we’ve been doing for so long, but we’re also excited about the idea of crafting something new, together with you – maybe a combination of workshops, an assembly, a family night, even an outdoor festival!
